Two Things You Must Have To Lead Through Change

Leading a changing team can be difficult. Often when a team or a company is changing or growing, leaders find themselves pushed to the brink of their current leadership abilities. While it may seem a scary place to be, learning to lead your team, through changes, to a better future is one of the most worthy endeavors of any leader.

Change is hard for everyone. The leader is the one who has to help guide everyone else through the changes. The reason change is so difficult for so many is because we’ve become accustomed -for better or for worse- to the way we have done things in the past. You may be comfortable with your current team, and that’s a good thing. You know how each other works. You understand how to communicate. You are used to the systems and processes you have in place. Change threatens all that.

But here’s the truth: if you can’t lead your team through changes, you’ll never get better results than what you currently have.

If you want to maintain the status quo, you just need a manager. If you want to grow (change), you need a leader.

One of the best things you can do for your changing team is to invest in team training. Creating space for your new team to understand one another and how to work together will not only help your team, but it will also help you as the leader. The better you know your team, the better you can lead them.

Another critical step to take to lead well through change is to invest in personal coaching. Even the greatest leaders need a coach.

Michael Jordan was one of the greatest basketball players in history, and one of the greatest leaders of any team. But he still had a coach! Coaches take great talent and help shape it to for maximum return.

Finding a coach that knows how you’re wired can help you lead your changing team with excellence. If you’ve already been through a team enneagram training, personalized enneagram coaching can help you navigate how to lead through changes in your company.

You don’t have to fear change. You don’t have to be overwhelmed by the changes happening around you. In fact, with training and coaching, your team can come out the other side even better than before. Schedule a team training today or email me directly (hello@evrgrnteams.com) if you’re interested in personalized enneagram coaching. You -and your team- will be glad you did.
